This Schmetz quality needle has an enlarged eye and grove that makes this a perfect needle for trouble free embroidery with the more fragile embroidery threads. Also guards against excess friction. Great to use with rayons and other specialty machine embroidery threads including polyesters. Remember that the finer the thread, the smaller size needle that should be used.~
